  • Does my health insurance cover dental?

Most commonly, no. These are usually separate policies and often provided by different companies. Specific coverage, maximums, and deductibles differ between insurance plans. Ask our team for help understanding your dental benefits!

  • What if I don’t know which dental plan I have?

We are happy to assist patients with understanding their dental plan details, but we will need:

    • First and Last name
    • DOB
    • SSN
    • Insurance Provider and Member ID (if possible)
    • Employer’s Name
  • What does it mean to be in or out of network?

Different insurance companies are contracted to work with different dental offices. Our Greenville and Landrum locations each participate with different providers. Our Landrum office is in network with Delta Dental, while our Greenville office is in network with several companies, including Delta Dental Premier, BCBS of SC, United Concordia, and Cigna. We prefer to have confirmation of your plan’s coverage prior to your appointment. We recommend calling your insurance company to ask about our office or one of our dentists.

The period of time a patient must wait after enrollment before the insurance company will cover treatment. Each plan is different, but this usually varies between 3-12 months.

  • What is a missing tooth clause?

A common insurance stipulation that if a tooth was missing before coverage began, the treatment to replace it will not be covered.

  • What if I don’t have insurance?
