Dr. Kathryn White, or “Katie,” joined the Wood Creek Dental team in 2013 after completing a one-year general practice residency program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her residency, Dr. White gained valuable experience in oral surgery, anesthesia, and emergency medical care. This training in addressing medically complex cases, trauma, and conscious sedation, she developed an interest in treating special needs patients and dental implants.

Education & Training
Dr. White’s education and training in all areas of dentistry make her an indispensable asset to our Greenville, SC team. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Clemson University in 2008 and went on to complete her education at the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) in 2012.
Dr. White has earned certifications and completed additional training in these dentistry areas:
- Dental Implant Training: Blue Sky Bio-Guided Implant Surgery, Implant Seminars Continuum with Dr. Arun Garg, and “Fundamental of Implant Dentistry: Factors Behind Predictable Results,” course by Dr. Carl Misch at Birmingham District Dental Society

- Sedation Dentistry: Oral Conscious Sedation Training

Community Service & Memberships
Dr. White is a volunteer dentist at the Local Greenville County Free Medical Clinic where she’s also an Attending for the dental student rotations. She and our Greenville Wood Creek Dental team participate in the annual South Carolina Dental Access Day, providing necessary dental care to patients who otherwise can’t afford it. Dr. White also volunteers with Young Life and serves as a Big Sister and Mentor at Big Brothers & Big sisters of America.
On an international basis, Dr. White has traveled to Ecuador with One Heart Global Ministries to offer dental care to people living in the Andes Mountains as well as Nanyuki, Kenya with the Grace Church in Greenville to be a volunteer dentist at the Kenyan dental and medical clinic. Lastly, she’s traveled to Ecuador with the Dental Community Fellowship to offer dental exams and treatments to peoples living in Quito.

Dr. White was born and raised in Greenwood, South Carolina. In her spare time, she loves being with family and friends and being involved in the community through Young Life and local missions. In 2017, she married Michael White, who is a math teacher at Greenville High School. They both have a passion for every kind of outdoors adventure and especially enjoy sharing those with their Golden Retriever, Ru. Their greatest adventure, however, began in 2020 with the great joy and blessings of welcoming their daughter Ellis into their family!
