Dr. Katie H. Bridges joined Wood Creek Dental in July 2008. Dr. Bridges is a graduate of Presbyterian College, with a B.S. degree in Biology. She went on to the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine, where she graduated in May of 2007. Dr. Bridges was the recipient of the Freshman Academic Award in 2000 and the 2005 award-winner of the Alumni Scholarship.
Dr. Bridges completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
During her time in Chicago, she became proficient in intravenous conscious sedation, treating patients with developmental disabilities, and completed hospital rotations in emergency medicine, anesthesia, and oral surgery. Dr. Bridges’ experience includes treating medically compromised patients, time in the operating room performing complete dental rehabilitation, and taking dental emergency call for the hospital.
Teaching Experience and Continued Education
Our dentist believes in continuing her education to give our patients the best dental care and treatments possible. She was a teaching assistant at the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine where she assisted in the lab and chairside teaching of removable prosthodontics to second- and third-year dental students from 2006 to 2007. Prior to that, she helped dental students with cadaver dissections.

She is also a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and the Piedmont Dental Society.
Community Service
Katie H. Bridges, DMD has participated in several Dental Missions trips to the Dominican Republic and Ecuador. She’s also an active member of the Downtown Presbyterian Church as a children’s church teacher and group facilitator. Our dentist is a supporter of Young Life & Meals on Wheels and a part of the Medical Campus Outreach & Dental Community Fellowship.
Dr. Bridges is the daughter of Dr. Dale Hunt. She married the love of her life, Brian Bridges, in July 2006. Brian is a financial advisor with Edward Jones. They welcomed their firstborn son, Will, into their family in October 2009 and daughter, Alice Perry, in January 2012. In her free time, Dr. Bridges enjoys running, cycling, spending time at the lake, and enjoying friends and family.
