At Wood Creek Dental, we take great pride in being a part of the Greenville community. We value all of our patients who come to us for their cosmetic and general dental needs. As a practice that proudly provides services for the whole family, we want to spread the word about fun family events that are happening around the great city of Greenville.
Now that it’s summer and the kids are out of school, there are many fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Below we highlight two series of events that provide joy and excitement for kids and adults of all ages.
Butterfly Adventure
Running all through June until July 7 is the Butterfly Adventure at the Roper Mountain Science Center. Open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., you and your family can get up-close with hundreds of colorful butterflies as they fly around you in an enclosed butterfly adventure habitat.
It takes roughly up to three hours to do all the activities in the Butterfly Adventure. The Butterfly Encounter is located in the tropical rainforest habitat inside Harrison Hall and is kept warm and humid so please dress to stay cool.
Admission for adults is $8, $7 for children aged 4 to 12, and free for children 3 and younger, as well as RMSC members.
Music by the Lake
Enjoy live music every Thursday evening throughout the summer at the Music by the Lake Summer Concert Series. Located at Lakeside amphitheater on the Furman University Campus, the concerts start at 7:30 p.m. and feature performances by artists playing everything from big band, jazz, bluegrass, contemporary music, marches, to orchestral favorites.
Thanks to local sponsors all concerts are free. And one lucky person at each Thursday night performance will receive a concert picnic basket filled with goodies. Featured bands include the Lakeside Concert Band, the Greenville Chorale, the Asheville Jazz Orchestra, and more.
